EXTENSION TO RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE FOR CHILDRENS HOSPITAL

Royal Children’s Hospital Chairman, Tony Beddison, has officially opened the new 16 bedroom extension of Ronald McDonald House, Parkville with twelve year old cancer patient, Mikael Lawford and Ronald McDonald House Charities CEO, Malcolm Coutts

Extensions included the renovation of five Victorian terraces adjacent to the House and the renewal of surrounding landscaping.

In recent years, the House’s 21 bedrooms have been used to full capacity with long waiting lists for families in need of accommodation.

The new extension will provide an extra 16 families with a house away from home bringing the total number of bedrooms to 37.

Renovations cost more than $1.3 million.
